The Chronic...

The Late Policy: They are a lot like assholes, everyone has one and they all stink... I really don't feel that way, just figured it would grab some of your attention.

That being said I feel as if having a "Late Policy" in place is a very important part of any class. There will always be the few that push the limits of every single assignment. Having a firm policy in place will slowly weed those who cannot perform properly out of the class. In class, just as in society there will be the failures ex: the druggies, the lazy, the ill prepared. These are just a few examples of the types of people/students that will always push the limits of the law/policies. If you stand by your principals and hold everyone to the same standard the strong will prevail while the weak and otherwise unacceptable will fall by the wayside.

A strong standing late policy that is also backed by the supervisor and the organization shall not fail nor be subverted in any fashion, whether it be by the students or the staff. If this policy becomes compromised, the door for everyone else to follow suit has been opened. Once this Pandora's Box has been opened, it will be very difficult if not possible to shut.
